5. Development versions of Kexi

There are two main methods for getting (almost newest) source code: either

  • using Subversion (SVN), or
  • downloading koffice snapshot tarball.
^ toc

5.1. Development version of Kexi from SVN server

See Compiling Kexi from Subversion

^ toc

5.2. Development version of Kexi from KOffice snapshot tarball

Read Compiling Kexi from Subversion document. The disadvantage of this method is that you're downloading entire koffice source code (about 15MB), but you only need Kexi sources. Kexi does not yet have a tarball snapshot available. However, in snapshots/ directory (mirrors) there is:

  • koffice-svn.tar.bz2 file containing from complete KOffice source tree from the previous night
  • .tar.xdelta patches made with xdelta program against previous koffice-??????.tar file - use it if you want to decrease download time.

Note that in the tarballs you will not find external source code like the MS Access (MDB) plugin. To get these, you will need to use Subversion.
